For the Love of Clay

I discovered pottery seven years ago through a few introductory classes, and it quickly sparked a deep curiosity in me. During the quiet of the COVID lockdowns, I found myself drawn back to clay—and I haven’t stopped since. What began as a creative outlet soon turned into a passionate journey of learning, experimenting, and growing.

Over the years, I’ve taken courses, explored new techniques online, and embraced every success and setback as part of the process. Whether it’s through trial, error, or breakthrough, I continue to push myself and expand my understanding of this beautiful medium.

Let History Speak

The importance of pottery and ceramics?

We use it everyday as a part of our lives in the form of crockery and enjoy ceramics as art.

Clay is one of the oldest materials used by humans—dating back over 30,000 years. The earliest known ceramic artifact, the Venus of Dolní Věstonice, was made from fired clay around 29,000–25,000 BCE in what is now the Czech Republic. This predates even the invention of the wheel!

Clay’s durability and versatility made it essential not just for art, but also for early tools, writing tablets, and food storage.
